Coach Xavi affirmed that Barca was very grateful to the legendary Gerard Pique after his last game at the Camp Nou.
Xavi praises Pique
Gerard Pique has announced his decision to retire and have his last game at Camp Nou against Almera. The fans stood and clapped as Pique left the field. After the match, the Spaniard gave a speech to say goodbye to the fans.

Xavi: Pique is a Barca legend
"We wanted to say goodbye to him in the best way possible," Xavi said after the game. “I think he had a great game, showing what he is capable of. The bigger the game, the better Pique performed. I have already said that he is a Barca legend and we are very grateful for what he has brought to the club."
Pique played 85 minutes of the match against Almeria and hugged teammates as he left the field. Ousmane Dembele and Frenkie de Jong were the scorers to help Barca win all 3 points to continue to put pressure on Real Madrid's top spot in La Liga.
Only four Barca players have made more appearances in La Liga than Gerard Pique's 422. Only Lionel Messi and Andres Iniesta have won more trophies than the 30 trophies Pique collected at Camp Nou.
Xavi's army will continue to fight against Osasuna in La Liga in the middle of next week. It was also the last match of Los Blaugrana before making room for the national team to gather and prepare for the 2022 World Cup.
