Midfielder Gerard Pique could not hold back his tears as he officially bid farewell to his digital career after the match against Almeria.
Pique officially retired
A few days ago, Gerard Pique confirmed that he would retire after playing with Barca against Almeria. At the age of 35, the Spanish midfielder noticed too many limitations when playing at the top.
Pique played 84 minutes against Almeria before being substituted for Andreas Chirstensen. Throughout the match, the number 3 midfielder received a standing ovation from the fans.
After the match, Barca held a ceremony to honor Pique. Midfielder in 1987 could not hold back the tears during his speech.

Pique burst into tears on the day of the end of her career in shorts.
Pique confirmed that even though he has retired, he will continue to accompany Barca in the future in a new role. The Spaniard said:
"In life, there will come a time when you get old. At some point, you realize that sometimes love is knowing how to let go. I will definitely come back here in the not too distant future.
I love Barça. That's why I figured it was the right time to stop. It's not goodbye. I was born here and will surely die here too."
On the day Pique retired, Barca won 2-0 against Almeria. Goals from Ousmane Dembele and Frenkie De Jong helped the Catalan team temporarily rise to the top of La Liga.
